Forum Boken is a collaborative project between academic researchers and the industry in Sweden. The purpose is to investigate the current changes in the publishing industry, particularly in:
- storytelling in new forms of distribution
- effects on the shape of the book and how we read
- new distribution channels and ebooks
- economic conditions and business models for publishers, book stores and authors
- the Swedish perspective, both in terms of business models and cultural politics

Inger Lindstedt is Professor in Media and Communication Studies, at School of Arts and Communication, K3, Malmö University. She was the “founding mother” and dean at K3 1996-1999. She has been project leader for the research project MyNews&SportsMyWay, part of the EU-funded NM2 project, New Millennium New Media, (2004-2007), and the research project Everyday Use of Energy and Electricity: Getting the Message Across, funded by Elforsk (2007-2009). Tobias Nielsén is the CEO of the research-based consulting and publishing firm QNB Volante. His work include mapping the creative industries, financial and management control in creative SME’s, economic effects of live events, and cultural and industry policies. He has been a speaker at conferences in Hong Kong, New York, Beijing and London. Tobias Nielsén has a Master’s Degree from studies at Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden, and Columbia Business School in New York City, USA. The company QNB Volante is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and involves the publishing arm Volante which publishes non-fiction books as well as a newsletter in Swedish on the cultural economy. Cristine Sarrimo is Associate Professor in literary studies as well as literary critic, and former editor. Her main interest is gender issues, and the medialization of contemporary literature, with a special focus on how old and new media converge. |

Patrik Wikström is a research fellow at Media Management and Transformation Centre and Jönköping International Business School. Patrik’s research primarily focuses on the innovative and adaptive behavior of media firms. In terms of industries, Patrik has done research on the music, television, and publishing industries.
